Great Reasons You May Not Have Thought Of For Buliding A Garden Conservatory

If you have any enthusiasm for you garden, then you will no doubt have an interest in garden conservatories. They are so great for many reasons. First of all, you have the chance to add an extra room to your home for much less than a normal extension and you also have less to worry about when it comes to planning permission. If your know your D.I.Y then you can purchase a self-build conservatory, add some simple conservatory furniture and you have a new haven to relax in after work and enjoy the wonder of outdoors in all weathers.

First let's look at self-build garden conservatories. You can literally save yourself thousands of dollars buy purchasing in this way. But it is not for the feint hearted. I would not recommend taking on a project like this unless you are either very competent in DIY, or better yet, know someone who is. Getting friends involved in building your conservatory will be the perfect way to reduce build time and help relieve frustration when things don't go according to plan (let's face it, they never do).

Above, I briefly touched on planning permission. You will more than likely still need permission before building your garden conservatory but you will need to check the rules and regulations in your area as they all differ. But, generally it is far easier to get permission for garden conservatories than for brick extensions. Another point I haven't yet mentioned is value. I'm not talking about the cost of the conservatory itself but the value it can add to your home. If done correctly, you increase the saleability of your property and increase it's value by more than double your investment in some cases. If you were unsure before reading this article then this would be the one factor that sways you. But don't just assume this will be the case. Do a little research and find out what properties in your area with garden conservatories are selling for.

Now let's get back to what garden conservatories were designed for, enjoyment. After spending days or weeks sweating away (or paying someone else to do it for you) you will want to be able to get the most out of your new garden conservatory. This is where you choice of conservatory furniture is paramount. You may want all out luxury and comfort or, you may want to consider furniture that you can take outside when the weather's nice. Either way it's about personal preference and taste. Whatever helps you unwind at the end of the day is the most important factor, besides the size of your budget of course.
